Planting

How to Grow

  1. Select a planting site in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil rich in organic matter.
  2. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and of equal depth, backfilling with native soil mixed with compost.
  3. Water the plant thoroughly after planting and apply a thick layer of organic mulch around the base, keeping it clear of the stem.
  4. Irrigate regularly during the establishment phase and during dry spells to prevent leaf drop.

Pro Tip

Position in full sun to maximise the intensity of the bronze-red new growth, and avoid heavy, waterlogged clay which causes root decline.
