Highly fragrant, cup-shaped flowers with creamy-white, spoon-shaped tepals emerge profusely from furry brown buds along the stems in late winter and spring. The wild species reaches nine to fifteen metres in height in garden cultivation, though compact cultivars like 'Silver Cloud' mature to a smaller scale.
