Liriope muscari is a tufted, evergreen herbaceous perennial native to East Asia, where it grows in forests, on shaded slopes, and near ravines. The species produces dense clumps of dark green, strap-shaped leaves and erect, spike-like racemes of small flowers followed by shiny black berries.

'Evergreen Giant' is a robust, clumping cultivar distinguished by its larger stature, reaching heights of up to 70 centimetres with flower spikes. The glossy, dark green foliage forms an upright, arching tuft that maintains its colour throughout the year.
