What you do
Get a free Wildfire Risk Overview of your property, then carry out the recommended vegetation management (thinning, limbing, clearing) yourself or with a contractor, and get reimbursed.
Requirements
- Complete a Wildfire Risk Overview site visit first (weekdays, business hours, April 15 to October 15; limited number per year, first come first served)
- Return the signed Commitment of Funding Form BEFORE starting work (TCD staff sign first)
- Work must complete the voluntary recommendations in your Overview; do not include treatments not listed
- Contractor receipts must show your name, address, work dates and description; own labor and equipment logged on TCD template
- TCD inspects the work and issues an Inspection Report
- Reimburse within the timeline on the Commitment of Funding Form (length not published on the page)
The plan or design it asks for
The emailed Wildfire Risk Overview from the site visit acts as the plan; reimbursable work must match it.
Make the plan in Sow
Draw the layout and build the plant list
Sow places plants on a photo of your yard and keeps a list of everything you add. Check Teton Conservation District's rules for exactly what to submit.
