Prunus laurocerasus is a vigorous, large, spreading evergreen shrub with handsome, glossy, dark green leaves. It produces small, fragrant white flowers in spring followed by cherry-like red fruits which ripen to black. 'Majestic Jade' is selected for its vigorous, upright growth habit and large, glossy, deep green leaves, making it an excellent choice for tall privacy screens and hedges. It is more cold hardy than many other cultivars.
